Clarenbridge is a small village about 15km from Galway City on the N18 Galway to Limerick road. It was home to the Reddingtons who owned the majority of the lands and property in the area. Kilcornan House was their home and is now owned by the Brothers of Charity. It is a beautiful village with the River Clarin flowing through it and the famous Paddy Burkes Pub. It is also close to Dunkellin Bay which leads onto Galway Bay where there is a lot of Oyster beds. Clarenbridge is most famous for its annual Oyster Festival which takes place every September and attracts tourists from all over the world.
